Prayer Promises From God’s Word

By Bishop O.W.Prince

When we pray, let our prayers be in accordance with the promises of God. Attend to His words; incline thine ear unto His sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. “For they are life unto those that find them, and health (Medicine) to all their flesh.” (Proverb 4:20-22) God’s Word has life in it. It is spiritual food. As you feed on it, you will become strong spiritually and physically. Read the Word, meditate on the Word, and take God’s medicine daily. God’s Words have power in them. The Word is God and through Him all things were made and in Him is life (John1:1-4). When you keep God’s Word in the midst of your heart, it will begin to flow out of your mouth and become life and healing to your flesh. For out of the mouth flow the contents of the heart (Matthew 12:33-37). Speak the Truth! Speak the promises!! Speak the Word!!!

Praying The Promises

Surely he took up our infirmities (Sicknesses) and carried our sorrows…he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities…by his wounds we are healed. (Isaiah 53:4-5)

No weapon forged against you will prevail. (Isaiah 54:17)

This is the one I esteem: he who is humble (Lowly) and contrite (repentant) in spirit, and trembles at my word. (Isaiah 66:2)

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. (James 5:13-16)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1st John 1:9)

“I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord your redeemer… “I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you again.” (Isaiah 54:8-9)

I will provide for their needs before they ask, and I will help them while they are still asking for help. (Isaiah 65:24)

The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and his ears toward their cry. When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:15,17-18)

Ask, and God will give to you. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will open for you. Yes, everyone who asks will receive. Everyone who searches will find. And everyone who knocks will have the door opened. (Matthew 7:7-8)

If you believe, you will get anything you ask for in prayer. (Matthew 21:22)

Also, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about something and pray for it, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. This is true because if two or three people come together in my name, I am there with them. (Matthew 18:19-20)

So I tell you to believe that you have received the things you ask for in prayer, and God will give them to you. When you are praying, if you are angry with someone, forgive him so that your Father in heaven will also forgive your sins. (Matthew 11:24-25)

And if you ask for anything in my name, I will do it for you so that the Father’s glory will be shown through the Son. If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14)

If you remain in me and follow my teachings, you can ask anything you want, and it will be given to you. (John 15:7)

In that day you will not ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you anything you ask for in my name. (John 16:23)

Let us, then, feel very sure that we can come before God’s throne where there is grace. There we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need it. (Hebrew 4:16)

Enjoy serving the Lord, and he will give you what you want. Depend on the Lord; trust him, and he will take care of you. (Psalm 37:4-5)

They will call to me, and I will answer them. I will be with them in trouble; I will rescue them and honor them. I will give them a long, full life, and they will see how I can save. (Psalm 91:15-16)

Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.

(1 John 3:21-23)

Now to him, who by the power at work within us is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all my iniquity (sin), who heals all my diseases, who redeems my life from the Pit (grave), who crowns me with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies me with good as long as I live so that my youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” (Psalm 103:1-5)

He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.” (Isaiah 40:29)

Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall hurt you.” (Luke 10:19)

A Sample Prayer”

Key Thought: Praying the promises of God.

Key Scripture: “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joint and marrow, and is a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)

Prayer: Thank you for your Word, Father. It is a light unto my path and a lamp unto my feet. Teach me to study your Word so that I can show myself approved unto you, a workman who never needs to be ashamed because I have learned to divide your Word rightly. I will search the Scriptures daily to discover your truth and direction.

Your Word will not depart out of my mouth, Lord Jesus. I will meditate upon it day and night so I will learn to walk in your Word daily. When this becomes a reality in my life, Lord, you will make my way prosperous and fill my life with success. Thank you for this promise which so encourages me.

You have performed your Word over and over again, Lord Jesus. You have confirmed it so many times in my life. May your Word always be with me as I learn to hide it in my heart so I will not sin against you. Help me to use your Word as the sword of the Spirit, the weapon through which I will always be able to stay the hand of the enemy.

My Lord and my God, your way is perfect and your Word is true; you are a mighty buckler to all who trust in you. It is your precious Word that brings faith to my heart and gives me the ability to trust you. Speak to me through the pages of the Holy Scriptures and through Your Holy Spirit and strengthen my faith.

Your wonderful Word makes me wise unto salvation. It assure me of being saved from Hell and damnation through repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit as evidenced through the speaking in tongues. Your Word calls me to die to sin. A watery burial in your name confirms and validates my death. The Holy Spirit breathes life into the new creature in Christ Jesus and speaks in a new tongue. Baptism in your name cleanses me from sin. The Holy Spirit sustains me and will not return unto you void. It will accomplish all that you purpose in my life. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your plan of salvation. Thank you for saving me.

Your Word gives me life because you are the Word and the Life. As I hold forth your Word, help me to rejoice in the day of Christ, knowing that my labor is not in vain, for you reward those who diligently seek you. I want to be more like you, Lord Jesus. I want to become a doer of your Word and not just a hearer. By keeping your Word, your love is made perfect in me. Give me the grace, Lord Jesus, to be both a doer and a keeper of your Word.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.
