We Believe…
One God
“For us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.” (1 Corinthians 8:6)
There is only ONE God who has always existed and is the creator of all things. (Deut 6:4) God was manifest in the flesh, taking upon himself the form of a man in the person of Jesus Christ. (1 Tim 3:16, 2 Cor 5:19) The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God dwelling inside of His children.
God’s Plan of Salvation
As the Apostle Peter stated in Acts 2:38, everyone must repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This constitutes the new birth that Jesus spoke of in John 3:5.
Repentance is a change of mind that causes a person to change their actions and turn away from sin (essentially dying to sin). God has commanded all men everywhere to repent. (Acts 17:30)
Water Baptism is an essential part of salvation. (1 Pet 3:21) It’s purpose is for the remission, removal, and forgiveness of our sins. (Acts 2:38, 22:16) Baptism represents us being buried with Christ (Rom 6:3) in which the sacrifice of his death {His Blood} is applied to our life. Baptism must be done in the name of Christ Jesus, for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God dwelling inside of his people. It is the seal of God given to those that believe [accept the Gospel message and obey God’s commandments]. (Eph 1:13, Rom 8:9) The Holy spirit transforms us, giving us power over the flesh and sin, transforming our minds and making us into a new creature made after God. Speaking in tongues is the initial sign of receiving the Holy Spirit given to all believers. (Mark 16:17, Acts 2:4,10:46, 19:6)
Holiness
Without holiness, no man shall see God. (Heb 12:14) God requires his children to be holy because he is holy. (1 Pet 1:15-16) This means that true worshipers of God will depart from sin and worldly practices to live a life that is pleasing and acceptable unto God. God has given us his spirit to empower us to live a sanctified life, and if we walk in the spirit, we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. (Gal 5:16) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Rom 8:14)
