Today’s Question:
Do you need to have a physical location or church building in order to be called a church?
The answer for today’s Bible Challenge Question is: No.
The Bible describes the Christian Church as both visible and invisible.
The “visible church” may be best understood as follows:
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
And…
Keep in mind when the word “church” (ekklesia) is mentioned in the Bible, it is a group of Christians meeting together. The church may be as small as two or three members. “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:20)
Furthermore…
The churches of the New Testament were all united as One Church. There were no Popes or denominations. All the Apostolic churches were united under the leadership of Jesus Christ. One Lord – Jesus, One Faith –The Gospel of the Kingdom of God, One Baptism – water baptism in Jesus’ name whereby one entered the Church of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:37-42) and being confirmed by God by being given the Holy Spirit. (Acts 10, Ephesians 1:13)
————————————-
The members of the “invisible church” may best be understood as those whose names are recorded in The Lambs Book of Life. (Revelation 21:22-27)
Also…
The “invisible church” may be understood as those who have believed the message of Christ, repented, were baptized in his name and received the gift of the Holy Spirit but who are scattered throughout the world due to persecution or the lack of shepherding. (John 10:12-16 and Acts 8:4)
The invisible Church is not exclusive from the physical church but inclusive of the unified body of Christ.
————————————-
According to Black Laws Dictionary 5th Edition, Church is defined as …
In its most general sense, the religious society founded and established by Jesus Christ, to receive, preserve, and propagate His doctrines and ordinances. It may also mean a body of communicants gathered into church order; body or community of Christians, united under one form of government by the profession of the same faith and the observance of the same ritual and ceremonies; place where persons regularly assemble for worship; congregation; organization for religious purposes; religious society or body; the clergy or officialdom of a religious body.
———————————————-
If indeed we have been born of the Water and the Sprit, we are the living, breathing Church of the Lord Jesus Christ for we have the testimony of two or three establishing our new birth. (1 John 5:5-9)

Today’s Question:
“Are there any people in the Bible specifically identified as being black in complexion or skin tone?” If yes, please give scripture reference.
The answer for today’s Bible Challenge Question is:
The Bible does not specifically identify any person as being black-skinned. The Bible also does not specifically identify any person as being white-skinned. The vast majority of the Bible took place in the Middle East, in and around Israel. Neither “black” nor “white” people are common in these regions. The vast majority of the people in the Bible were “Semitic,” light to dark brown in complexion. Ultimately, it does not matter what skin color the people in the Bible had. Skin color is meaningless in the message of the Bible. We all need to take our eyes off of the skin and focus on the soul.
Some scholars guess that Moses’ wife Zipporah might have been black since she was a Cushite (Numbers 12:1). Cush is an ancient name for an area of Africa. The Shulammite may have been black (Song of Solomon 1:5). Some propose that Bathsheba (2 Samuel 11:3) was black. Some believe that the Queen of Sheba who visited Solomon (1 Kings 10:1) was black. The Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8:37 may have been a black man. Ethiopians are mentioned about 40 times in the Bible, and the Prophet Jeremiah asked, “Can the Ethiopian change his skin …” (Jeremiah 13:23). “Simeon called Niger” in Acts 13:1 may have been black. The Bible, though, does not specifically say that any of these people were black.

“Shame On You!”
“Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.” (Matthew 10:32-33)
Before we go any further, let’s answer some questions.
- Do you consider yourself a Saint of Almighty God?
- Do you pray to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ (Yehowshua the Messiah)?
- Do you want to be known by God?
If you answered “yes” to all of these questions, then consider the following scripture where Jesus denies knowing those who thought that they knew Him and that He knew them:
“…I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness (wicked, perverse and licentious living)!” (Matthew 7:21-23)
Now here are a few more questions to help you determine if you are truly owning and acknowledging Christ before mankind.
- Do the people on your job or at your school know that you follow Christ?
- Do your friends and family members know that you follow Christ?
- Do the people you party with know that you are saved?
- Do the people you have sexual intercourse with know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit?
- Do the people you get high with know that you’ve been born-again?
- Are you acknowledging Christ in every area of your life?
The answers to these questions may reveal a lot about your true relationship with Christ as well as Christ’s relationship with you.
Undoubtedly there are countless ways in which we may deny Christ.
If you are only acknowledging God in the presence of other believers or when it is convenient, popular, comfortable or profitable, then Christ may be speaking of you when he says, “I never knew you.” (Matthew 7:23)

Seven Days of Wisdom from Bishop O.W. Prince / Day 2
In honor of my 53 birthday, I am offering 7 bits of wisdom that I have gleaned over thirty plus years in ministry. I will only share one of them at this time. I would like to share the following simple yet profound insight:
The first priest in a child’s life should be their father. If a child experiences a loving, trusting, caring, nurturing and honest relationship with their earthly father, they are more likely to relate to the heavenly Father. After all, God said that the male of the human species was made in His glorious image (1 Cor. 11:7). It is uniquely the male’s honor and privilege to be called father even as God is called The Father. And it is the obligation and challenge of every man who has fathered a child to represent the image of God to that child. That is why it is so important that God’s divine will for marriage, sex and headship in a family be respected and obeyed. It is even more important that the parents, especially the head, be saved and filled with the Holy Spirit of God without which they will not be able to represent GOD. I know that this can be a daunting task in the light of so much wickedness in the world and so much single parenting and baby momma drama. Nevertheless, the mantle of headship requires that fathers exemplify God even in the face of evil, remembering that with God all things are possible.
Fathers don’t love their children any less than mothers do. We just love them differently. And a child is likely to see God as The Father, if they see God in their father.
Attention fathers! Your salvation can save your child(ren). Therefore, repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children (Acts 2:38-39).
