A CRUMB FROM THE MASTER’S TABLE – “GRUMBLE AND STUMBLE”

GRUMBLING AND complaining 2

Numbers 13:25-33 English Standard Version (ESV)

Report of the Spies

25 At the end of forty days they returned from spying out the land. 26 And they came to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation of the people of Israel in the wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh. They brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. 27 And they told him, “We came to the land to which you sent us. It flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. 28 However, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. And besides, we saw the descendants of Anak there. 29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the Negeb. The Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the hill country. And the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and along the Jordan.”

30 But Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, “Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it.” 31 Then the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are.” 32 So they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height. 33 And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.”

Numbers 14 Common English Bible (CEB)

The Israelites’ complaint

The entire community raised their voice and the people wept that night. 2 All the Israelites criticized Moses and Aaron. The entire community said to them, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt or if only we had died in this desert! 3 Why is the Lord bringing us to this land to fall by the sword? Our wives and our children will be taken by force. Wouldn’t it be better for us to return to Egypt?” 4 So they said to each other, “Let’s pick a leader and let’s go back to Egypt…”

The Israelites’ punishment

26 The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron: 27 How long will this wicked community complain against me? I’ve heard the Israelites’ dissent as they continue to complain against me. 28 Say to them, “As I live,” says the Lord, “just as I’ve heard you say, so I’ll do to you. 29 Your dead bodies will fall in this desert. None of you who were enlisted and were registered from 20 years old and above, who complained against me, 30 will enter the land in which I promised to settle you, with the exception of Caleb, Jephunneh’s son, and Joshua, Nun’s son.

Philippians 2:14-16 Common English Bible (CEB)

14 Do everything without grumbling and arguing 15 so that you may be blameless and pure, innocent children of God surrounded by people who are crooked and corrupt. Among these people you shine like stars in the world 16 because you hold on to the word of life.

Understood By God Only

GLORY TO GOD copy
Have you ever met someone in the street or at the store and engaged in a brief friendly conversation with them but then suddenly noticed that they were just politely entertaining your conversation; their mind is entirely someplace else and on something else?

They are friendly, cordial, engaging but they are really not as interested in what you are talking about as you are.

They comprehend what you are saying and are sympathetic toward your concerns, but their eyes seem to be focused on a far distant reality than the present moment.

Have you ever met someone who was there but yet hasn’t there?

I have.

Every time that I look in the mirror in see such a person.

The Chosen Man of God is A Unique Creation of Father YAHWEH! He stands in two worlds and simultaneously is gifted by God to glimpse the Kingdom of God in her glorious and eternal wonder and yet see the earthly world in all of her inglorious sin.  And he is empowered, compelled and charged by FATHER YAHWEH to look through the prophetic lenses of GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT and Sound the Alarm to Repent and to be Saved.

The Chosen and Sent Man of God is an enigma and a very peculiar creature.

Only God Can Understand The Ones That He Plucked Out Of Humanity And Reserved For Himself.

Only GOD Understands.

TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED

TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED

Psalm 105:14-15
He permitted no man to oppress them, And He reproved kings for their sakes: “Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm.”

Miriam was struck with leprosy because she criticized Moses’ marriage to an Ethiopian (Dark-skinned) woman.  (Numbers 12)

42 young children were torn to pieces by 2 female bears after they mocked and teased the prophet Elisha, provoking him to call down judgment upon them. (2 Kings 2)

Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, met with sudden death after they lied to the Apostles and the Holy Spirit. (Acts 5)

Some of our troubles may have been brought on because of how wickedly we treated and despairingly we thought of the Man Of GOD.

LAY NOT YOUR HANDS UPON HIS ANOINTED!

DON’T CAUSE YAHWEH’S PROPHETS ANY TROUBLE!

REPENT!

TODAY’S SABBATH MESSAGE / February 27, 2015 / “ARE YOU STILL CRUCIFYING CHRIST?”

Go To Hell

After observing the licentiousness of some of our so-called church folks and their preoccupation and approval of sexual immorality and perversion, I am convinced that many of us need to be reminded that our sins placed Jesus on the cross.  Many need to be reminded of the ghastly and costly nature of sin and what it did to Jesus.

As Christians, we cannot embrace sin in any fashion because sin separates us from the One we love and worship. It is filthy, ugly and deadly.  If after receiving the knowledge of the Truth and the Precious Blood of Jesus, we willfully sin, we have only the expectation of our own damnation. (Hebrews 10:26-31).  If we deliberately keep sinning – abusing the sacrifice of God in Christ Jesus – then we are guilty of the blood of Christ.

PLEASE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:

According to a report by medical doctor, Mark Eastman, the suffering Jesus experienced on the cross is unimaginable.

For instance, prior to Jesus’ trial he was flogged by the Roman guards. “This process typically involved a whip with numerous leather thongs, 18-24 inches long, with bits of metal, bone or glass embedded in the leather…. Scourging was an extreme form of punishment. The skin on the victim’s back was usually shredded, thus exposing the underlying muscle and skeletal structures. Severe blood loss and dehydration were the rule. Many victims died from such scourging.

After the scourging of Jesus, the Roman soldiers beat Him a second time with their hands and with a reed. Then they put on him a crown of sharp flesh penetrating thorns.

Then came the crucifixion. It is arguably the most painful death ever invented by man and is where we get our term ‘excruciating.’ It was reserved primarily for the most vicious of criminals.

Even though Pilate, the Roman Governor, said, “I find no fault in this man,” he gave in to the jealous crowd and allowed Jesus to be crucified. With his arms stretched out Jesus was nailed to a wooden cross. The nails, which were generally about 7-9 inches long, were placed between the bones of the forearm (the radius and ulna) and the small bones of the hands (the carpal bones), permanently destroying the largest nerve in the hand called the median nerve…. In addition to severe burning pain the destruction of this nerve causes permanent paralysis of the hand.

The positioning of the feet is probably the most critical part of the mechanics of crucifixion. First the knees were flexed about 45 degrees and the feet were flexed (bent downward) an additional 45 degrees until they were parallel to the vertical pole. An iron nail about 7-9 inches long was driven through the feet between the 2nd and 3rd metatarsal bones. In this position the nail would sever the dorsal pedal artery of the foot, but the resulting bleeding would be insufficient to cause death.

The resulting position on the cross sets up a horrific sequence of events which result in a slow, painful death. Having been pinned to the cross, the victim now has an impossible position to maintain. The result is that within a few minutes of being placed on the cross, the shoulders will become dislocated. Minutes later the elbows and wrists become dislocated…. As time goes on, the victim is less and less able to bear weight on the legs, causing further dislocation of the arms and further raising of the chest wall, making breathing more and more difficult. The result of this process is a series of catastrophic physiological effects.

Eventually the heart begins to fail, the lungs collapse, and the victim suffocates. He dies a slow, unbelievable excruciating painful death.

And all of this Jesus did for you and me gladly and willingly because he loves us with an everlasting love. He died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins and mine and satisfy the wrath of God so as to reconcile us back to God – assuring that we who believe and obey His commandments will rise as he did from physical death to be alive forever with God.

“However, the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral [adulterers, homosexuals, lesbians, fornicators]  those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars–they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)

If you are reading this and have become convicted of your sins, it is not too late. For “if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

LOVE

Wallpaper Market

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him won’t perish but will have eternal life. (John 3:16)

“As the Father loved me, I too have loved you. Remain in my love.  If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.  I have said these things to you so that my joy will be in you and your joy will be complete.  This is my commandment: love each other just as I have loved you. No one has greater love than to give up one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:9-13)

“This is how we know love: Jesus laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” (1 John 3:16)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JESUS?

Do this In Remembrance

19 And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:19)

The Lord has not commanded that we celebrate his birth but his Holy Sacrifice in the Crucifixion and His Victory in the Resurrection.

And although there is nothing intrinsically wrong with celebrating the birth of the Holy Messiah, there is also nothing wrong with celebrating Christ everyday of the year like we do at “Christmas time.”

Christmas gift on defocused lights background

For REAL Christians, everyday is a time for giving, being generous, being considerate, being charitable, loving, forgiving, helping, praying, reaching out, being humble, being kind, being honest, self-sacrificing and thankful.

The REAL Challenge is for us to acknowledge Christ for Real and not just for the “Christmas Season.”

REAL Christianity is not a seasonal thing but an Eternal One and it begins Internally.

No One Understands Us Like God

TRUTH GOD UNDERSTANDS

Sometimes all you need is for someone to really understand and appreciate what you are dealing with and the struggles you have had to overcome and are overcoming everyday. You don’t want their money or their praises. You just want their understanding.

But…

Sometimes friends don’t understand what you are going through.

Sometimes family members are oblivious to your grief, inner sufferings and pains.

Sometimes your pastor cannot relate to what you are struggling with.

Sometimes your spouse doesn’t understand you.

The only one who really understands us is the One who made us – Jesus Christ. And He upholds us by His Word of Power. (Hebrews 1:1-4)

There is not a friend like Jesus!  He knows all about struggles and He will comfort and guide ‘till the day is done. Jesus is our only true friend.  Amen! Amen!!

I Am Not Ashamed

I am Not Ashamed of the Gospel

It is disturbing to think that folks will ridicule and ostracize us if we say that we don’t like Tyler Perry’s movies, plays and television shows because of some of his questionable Christian themes, messages and views. It is unsettling to think that some people will think negatively of us if we dare to voice that we can’t stand Denzel Washington or George Clooney or that we don’t like gangster rap music or the music or Celine Dion, Frank Sinatra, Beyoncé Knowles, Bobby Jones Gospel or Yolanda Adams. It is frightening to think that some folks will seek to do us harm is we dare call T.D. Jakes, Joel Osteen or some other preacher a false prophet.

Yet these same condemnatory folks will not ridicule, criticize or ostracize those folks who dare say that God is wrong for condemning homosexuality. These same censorious individuals withhold condemnation from those who condemn God’s Word of righteousness, holiness and sexual purity.

Through their silence, these same disparaging spirits give consent and support to those who brazenly oppose God, redefine God’s institution of marriage and promote the legalization of sexual perversion.

These folks don’t belong to God. Their father is Satan and they rejoice in his desires.

Whereas everyone is entitled to various tastes in actors, singers and artists, there is but One choice for Eternal Salvation—Christ Jesus—The WORD of God!

God’s Way Is The Only Way. And anyone who dares to oppose God’s Eternal Moral Law must be exposed, admonished, rebuked and challenged to repent.

It is easy to go along with the popular trends and keep silent in the face of moral controversy but authentic children of Yahweh will always speak out and stand up for Father God and His righteousness.

For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory, and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. ~ Luke 9:26

I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
