There comes a time when hurt is no longer painful and cries no longer produces tears; when the ones that caused our injuries don’t matter to us anymore and the ones that we once longed for are no longer missed or desired.

If tortured repeatedly and made to suffer for too long, we tend to shut down emotionally and physically in order to survive.  It is an automatic self-preservation mode.  We become cold and virtually impervious to pain stimuli and oblivious to affections, sentiments and emotions.

Sometimes we become hard like the life we were forced to live and the abuses we were forced to endure.  Sometimes we become insincere like the people we were forced to interact with.  And we become task driven, disconnected and impersonal like those who methodically tortured, stripped and divested us of our humanity and extinguished any spark of divinity that once may have existed in us and kept us connected to hope.

We better be careful how we treat and handle people as we can never tell who is hanging on by a thread or who has already been pushed to the edge or whose cup is running over or whose glass is cracked from the enormous pressures and challenges of life.

For some people, life no longer hold any real expectations of joy or pleasure, fulfillment or accomplishment, love or companionship.  For some people, life on earth doesn’t matter anymore.

The challenge for us is not to focus on this world’s vain offerings but to keep the FAITH and place all of our trust in the eternal hope of God in Christ.

Only through Christ will our thirst for happiness and hunger for righteous love be truly satisfied and our souls gratified.

“For the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.” (Matthew 24:13)

Can you hear what the SPIRIT is saying to The Ekklesia of CHRIST?

“Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Yeshua The Messiah. No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.” (2 Timothy 2:3-4)

Are you hearing what the SPIRIT is saying to The Ekklesia of CHRIST?
