I was listening to a particularly powerful politician and government official and I realized something I hadn’t realized before. Politicians use the scriptures much like some false preachers and pastors do. If the scripture can lend itself to support their political views, then it is quoted or loosely referred to; mostly out of context to add religious sanction to what they are proposing.

This is wrong and it is a long practiced tactic of Satan.

When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness by Satan in Luke 4, Satan misquoted Psalm 91:11-12 out of context in the hope of getting Christ to contradict GOD and become his slave for whomever we obey we are their slaves. (Romans 6:16)

The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here. For it is written:

“‘He will command his angels concerning you
to guard you carefully;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’” (Luke 4:9-11)

First, the Book of Psalms is not the Book of Law, Commandments and Promise but of prayers, poems, and hymns that focus the worshiper’s thoughts on God in praise and adoration.

Secondly, the correct quote is as follows:

For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
(Psalm 91:11-12)

Do you see the immediate discrepancies?

Satan said “He will Command.” However Psalm 91:11 says that “He shall give.” Satan said that the angels will “Guard.” But the Psalmist said that the angels will “Keep.”

In addition to these obvious differences, Satan quoted from the Psalms where as Christ spoke the Eternal LAW of God out of Deuteronomy.

Let us never forget that Satan knows the Word better than we do for he was in Heaven with God and if we don’t have the Holy Spirit to guide and direct us, we will be easily fooled and confused by the intricate and crafty way that Satan and his ministers and politicians pervert, twist, misquote and edit the Word of God to suit their own purposes and disguise themselves as angles of light. (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

There is nothing new under the sun. The eloquent deceptions have been going on since the Garden of Eden and continues to this very hour.

Test everything my friends. Trust no one.  Not even me.  If What I am proclaiming about God and salvation is not consistent with the Word and the Teachings of Christ and His True Apostles, then rebuke me.  Please don’t leave me in the dark.

I try to shine the light of God’s TRUTH while it is day. For night is fast approaching where no Christian will be safe to work out in the open. And night may very well already be upon us.

2 Timothy 4:1-3
“I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires.”

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
