While pastoring in Spartanburg, SC, I was told a story about a traveler who was passing through a town looking for TheChurch of Jesus Christ. He stopped at the only gas station in that town and asked the gas station attendant where might he find The Church of Jesus Christ. The gas station attendant confidently referred him to several different churches in the area.
After some time passed, the man revisited the gas station and he saw the gas station attendant who had earlier referred him to the churches in the local area.
