Happy New Year Everybody! / A Letter From the Bishop’s Desk

O God, it is in the name of Christ I pray for all those who may read and share this prayer. Thank you for the gift of life and of a new year in which to live. May this be a time of grace, a time to grow in faith and love, a time to renew our commitment to obeying and following Your Living Word and Holy Spirit.

May 2015 be a blessing for us and for others – a time to cherish family and friends, a time for reconciliation, forgiveness and love, a time to embrace our Faith more completely.

Please walk with us every day and every hour of this new year that the Light of Christ might shine through us. Grant us divine favor in spite of our weaknesses and failings. Forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who have trespassed against us. Grant us the Spirit of compassion, forgiveness, comfort and generosity so that we may be able to comfort those who are in pain and affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted. Above all, help us to secure our salvation through repentance, baptism in the name of Christ Jesus and the affirmation of Your Holy Spirit; remembering that yours is the Way, the Truth and the Life. This is our prayer in the name of Jesus Christ.

Let me begin this New Year by proclaiming The Truth. It is The Truth that will make us free.

The year maybe new but This Truth is not a new message.

It is TRUTH since time immemorial.

We stand between blessing and cursing. And the humanists would have us to believe that we determine our fate by our attitude and our actions – we have to think positive and take positive action. This sounds good and makes good human sense.

However, I have learned that whomever God blesses no man can curse.  And whomever God curses, no man can bless. You can have a positive attitude and take positive action and still fall far short of the mark.  You can do everything right and nothing works out for you and you can do nothing right and everything just blossoms for you.

Truth is always eternal and it doesn’t change.  What was true yesterday is still true today. However, the humanists’ philosophies and reasoning are flawed and lacks consistency therefore it is absent of truth.

If we were to really listen to the pages of recorded history and ask God to reveal the TRUTH to us so that we might know the Truth and be set free from the ignorance called human wisdom,I believe that we will come to the TRUTH that…
