There are folks who constantly and repeatedly tell us that they are saved. They can tell us the day and the hour that they “Accepted the Lord;” – whatever that means. Some will tell us how many years that they have been saved. They just want everyone to know and agree with them that they are saved. They have to declare their own salvation in the absence of any real witnesses.
But We Do Not!
Deuteronomy 19:15 teaches us that “A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.” This doesn’t mean our own testimony, which could be considered prejudicial and self-serving, but the testimony of two or three corroborating witnesses. This applies to our salvation. Salvation is established only in accordance with Holy Scripture and by the testimony of three corroborating witnesses.
If we have believed the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have obeyed His command to be baptized in water in His name and have been gifted with the Holy Spirit of God, then there are three that bear witness of our salvation and testify for us; The Spirit, The Water and The Blood.
In addition, there are three that bear record in heaven about our salvation; The Father, The Word, and The Holy Ghost. (1 John 5:6-10)
If we do not have the witness of the Spirit, the Water and the Blood, our salvation is not established on earth nor recorded in heaven.
Repent and Obey The Word!
