I have noticed over the course of my pastoral and evangelical ministry that there is a significant number of professed Christians who have an undying allegiance to their specific church or denomination. I have heard a number of folks say that they will never leave their church.
This is a very dangerous position and attitude to take. It places the church above Christ and the denomination above God’s TRUTH. It is a form of idolatry. They worship their faith instead of worshipping the True and Living God. They celebrate their denominations and organizations instead of celebrating being born of the water of the and the Spirit (Luke 10:20, Revelations 21:27). They use the name of Jesus to promote their own manmade churches and theologies.
I have witnessed to many souls and delivered to them the Word of Truth regarding their need to be born again – Repent and be Baptized into Water in the name of Christ Jesus and filled with the Holy Spirit in accordance with God’s Holy Scriptures (2 Timothy 4:2). I have passionately and consistently proclaimed the Gospel of The Kingdom of God and witnessed to the truth of God’s ordained plan of salvation only to be told by some that they were already saved because they had given their lives to Jesus or they had prayed a sinners prayer or they had some how received Christ. And my question to them is “How?” How did you give your life to Jesus? How did you receive Christ? Where is a sinner’s prayer in the Holy Scriptures? Some would answer that they are saved by faith. But what is it that they are calling “faith?” Is your faith sufficient to save you? Do you want to bet your eternal soul on your understanding of faith? How does God define True Faith?
HERE IS A HINT:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ (Matthew 7:21-23)
Oh my Lord! What a revelation! Some church folks and some so-called saved people are going to hell.
I contend that without Trust, Submissiveness and Obedience to God’s Holy Commands, we do not have Faith and cannot be saved.
Many churches and Pastors function to gathering members for their denominations. They are literally warehousing souls and indoctrinating them into their traditions. However, The Truly sent Man of God labors to gather souls for the Kingdom of God (Luke 10:2).
