“I Humble Myself” / This Week’s Word and Prayer for May 06, 2013

This Week’s Word

For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. (Romans 12:3)

This Week’s Prayer

Father, it is in the name of the LORD YeHoWsHua* (Jesus Christ) we pray.  Please forgive us when we think more highly of ourselves than we should. Forgive the sin of pride in our lives. Forgive us for allowing the accolades and praises of this world to make us arrogant and conceited. Thank You for you grace Oh Heavenly Father. Thank You that Your grace covers all of our sins with unconditional love and forgiveness. Help us to walk in that grace today, turning away from pride and arrogance. Give us a humble spirit that draws others to You. Help us to see ourselves through Your eyes. Empower us to live in accordance with the measure of faith You have given each of us – not depending upon our own wisdom knowledge and understanding but totally trusting in you. We pray this prayer In the matchless name of our Lord and savior YeHoWsHua* (Jesus the Christ), Amen.

Footnote: *The Hebrew spelling of the name of Christ is used in this prayer for educational purposes. Yehowshua is often shorten to Yeshua but out of respect for my Lord I chose to use the spelling of His proper name to demonstrate that His name is above every name and that even the spelling of His name is relative to the spelling of The Father’s name – remembering that there were not any vowels in the Hebrew alphabets. Thus, YHWH (Yahweh) and YeHoWsHua (Yahweh is salvation) are grammatically and uniquely related. Notice the Y-H-W-H in both the Father and the Son.
